Although it was tough to see Canada defeat the USA for the gold medal in hockey, but the blow was made softer when Sidney Crosby scored the game winner in overtime. It also means that Crosby has more hardware than Alex Ovetchkin. He was on the Russian team in 2006 that lost the Bronze Medal game to the Czech Republic, he and the Russians were soundly defeated by Canada in the quarterfinals and couldn't even compete for a medal. He was also defeated by Sid and the Pens in a best of seven series. Let's face it, Crosby is a better player than Ovetchkin. The Russians have gotten away from what made them great when they were the Soviet Union. From 1956-1992, the Soviet Union won gold in all but two Olympics. Since then, the highest they have finished with a silver in 1998 in Nagano. Then they finished with Bronze in Salt Lake City. The Russians have progressivly declined since then. Maybe the Russian Officials should consider not taking Ovetchkin in 2014 when they head to Russia.
